Women Aging in Marin

Join the Marin County Commission on Aging (MCCOA) June 2025 public meeting for a presentation on “Women in Marin: Living with Change, Resilience, and Joy,” presented by the MCCOA Equity & Inclusion Committee.

Behind the image of affluence, Marin County’s rising costs and hidden challenges—caregiving demands, career interruptions, and systemic barriers—impact women of all ages. These three women’s inspiring stories of resilience and adaptation showcase their vital role in contributing to the fabric of life and strengthening our community. Join our vibrant panel discussion to gain actionable insights to advocate for change—through policy, community initiatives, or personal action. Join us as we help us shape the future for women in Marin!

Presenters: Valeria Sasser—writer, storyteller, public policy professional; Rev. Joan Smith—pastor, spiritual guide, educator; Chris Yamate—musician, caregiver, retired public employee. Facilitated by Kristin Amlie and Diana López.
